New Year’s Resolution

Happy New Year! It’s finally 2016, and I have already set a lot of goals for the year. However, I only made one major resolution. It’s the most common resolution among us. You guessed it. My resolution for this year is to lose weight, and guess what. I’ve already done it! Yes, you read that right. It’s just the 2nd day of 2016 and I’ve lost all of the weight that I set out to get rid of! I didn’t count calories or points. I didn’t even have to order food or follow meal plans. I never stepped foot in the gym and I didn’t break a sweat. No knives or anesthesia were involved either, and you won’t see an infomercial about the program on TV.

Do you want to know my big weight loss secret that gave me such miraculous results? It’s so simple. I prayed. See my before and after results below.

Like many of you, I’ve been carrying around so much dead weight that has been holding me back from completely enjoying my life. Bearing all of the pain from my past and the fear of my future was enough to weigh me down like an anchor. So, I decided to confide in my real anchor, God. I talked to him about all of this “dead weight” I have been carrying, gave it to him and just like that, I lost it!

The word of God says:

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Who wouldn’t want to trade a stressful, heavy burden for a burden that is easy and light? Some of us are so concerned about our physical weight that we make yearly resolutions (that we may or may not follow through) to get rid of it. Let’s switch it up this year and lose some mental/emotional weight. It’s free and the results are instant.

I wish you a weightless, peaceful and joyful New Year!

Yes! The freedom and peace that comes with giving everything to God is priceless! Happy New Year! May you enjoy all the blessings the good Lord has in store!

Great advice. People often fail to realize how hard it is to accomplish anything when their emotional states are in turmoil. “Get your mind right,” step one. Free yourself to move forward!

I just learned about Moving Forward at church yesterday! I’d love it if you checked out my recent post about 2016 being my year of prosperity. God bless you!
