Dating

Whether you’re in the first couple months of your relationship or years into your marriage, dating is essential. It’s important to spend one-on-one time with your significant other to maintain the spark in your relationship. When most people think about dates, they consider dinner and a movie. While, that’s a nice way to spend time with your mate, that routine gets old fast. Here are some other fun and free ways you can connect with your partner:

1. Go for a walk.
Turn off your electronic devices and take time to appreciate each other and good ole mother nature. Check out a nearby park or simply take a stroll through your neighborhood. Enjoy the serenity of the Spring weather as you enjoy each other’s company and conversation.

2. Exercise.
Studies have shown that people are more likely to exercise if they have a partner. No gym membership? No problem. Explore other options such as Youtube workout videos or going to your local track. Motivate each other and celebrate afterwards.

3. Work on a project.
Have you been putting off assembling some furniture or painting a room? Make a date out of it. This way, you get to spend quality time with your loved one and check something off of your to-do list. It’s a win-win and you will get to accomplish something together. #teamwork

4. Go sightseeing.
No matter if you live in a small town or a huge metroplex, there are always new faces and places to see. Drive around town and visit some areas you’ve never been to before. You may even stumble upon some museums or historical landmarks. Take pictures and create memories without going on vacation.

5. Cook together.
Food is still the way to most people’s hearts. Try a new recipe that you both agree on. Set the table, light some candles and don’t worry about messing it up. You can always order pizza as a backup plan!

Dates don’t always have to be predictable or expensive. Try these suggestions to bond with your significant other in new, unconventional ways.
