When I decided to start a blog, it wasn’t hard for me to come up with a title for it. Blessed & Beautiful seemed like a perfect fit and I like it. I realized that I never took the time to explain my blog title or what significance it has to me or you. So, here you go.

If you look at my bio on any of my social media pages, you see that I always mention that I’m “Blessed & Beautiful.” This is something I came up with one day when searching for how to describe myself. Then, I realized that this not only applies to me, but to everyone. Yes, even men can be Blessed & Beautiful. The idea behind it is that you are Blessed to be alive and well, and you are Beautiful because you were created in the image of God.

Blessed

You are Blessed to be alive and well. Sure, you may have also been blessed with a family, a job, a house, a car, an abundance of money, etc. However, the one thing that everyone who is reading this has in common is that they are alive and well. No matter what’s going wrong in your life or what you’re lacking, remember that it could be worse. Someone didn’t wake up this morning, and someone else may have woken up, but can’t get out of bed. If you’re alive and well, consider yourself blessed.

Beautiful

You are Beautiful because you were created in the image of God. Although I’m not actually referring to physical beauty, you should consider yourself as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside. God created us in his likeness. Therefore, we have the ability to love and show compassion for one another. That is truly a beautiful thing.

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” -Genesis 1:27 NIV

So there you go! I hope you consider yourself Blessed & Beautiful and let others know they are too.
