“For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.”-2 Timothy 1:7
I often hear people say that if you’re going to worry, don’t pray and if you’re going to pray, don’t worry. You can’t do both. That’s understandable and it sounds good, but if your’e a real, living, breathing human being you’ll probably do both. Nobody’s perfect. We worry. We fear. That doesn’t mean we don’t believe.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” -Hebrews 11:1
Often, our faith is tested. It’s hard to believe in something you can’t see. When you look at your bills and your bank account and the numbers don’t add up, it’s a challenge to imagine everything working out. You have faith in God, but the pressures of the world are overwhelming you. You’re not alone. We’ve all been afraid.
The good news is that it is going to be okay. I know this because you’re here now, reading this post. So, do yourself a favor. Take a deep breath. Release your fear and lift up your faith. Know that God always has a plan and this too shall pass.
Choose faith over fear.
“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever. So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”-2 Corinthians 4: 17-18
